MIDLAND, Mich. (Jan. 18) – Dow Chemical Co. ended its force majeure declaration for ethyleneamines effective Jan. 16, the company announced Jan. 17.
The company declared force majeure on Aug. 31 due to disruptions to transportation logistics and raw material and energy supply constraints related to hurricanes Katrina and Rita.
"While manufacturing operations recovered quickly following Hurricane Katrina, logistical issues remained until the end of 2005," said John Maniscalo, marketing manager for Dow Ethyleneamines. "Going forward, we expect to supply our customers as usual, subject to typical lead time and availability constraints. However, some export shipments may be slowed due to ongoing container shortages."
