EMMEN, Netherlands (Jan. 6)—Diolen Industrial Fibers B.V. is expanding capacity again at its Emmen plant for polyester fibers used in reinforcements for tires, hose and other rubber technical goods by about 12.5 percent with the addition of a fifth spinning line.
Diolen did not disclose the cost of expansion project, which should be on-stream by mid-year, raising the plant's annual capacity to 45,000 metric tons.
The company just brought a fourth single-step spinning line on-stream in December, raising capacity by 9,500 tons to 40,000 tons.
Diolen CEO Jan Michiels said the expansion reflects the market´s acceptance of Diolen's one-step yarn, and the one-step process allows Diolen to offer customers "consistently high quality at a competitive price."
