PLYMOUTH, Mich.—George Dettloff has been promoted to president and CEO of SKF USA Inc., and will continue to serve as president of the SKF Automotive Division—North America.
He replaces Sten Malmstrom, who is retiring after 32 years in various senior management positions with SKF.
Dettloff, who has 30 years of operational experience, will coordinate a variety of activities for SKF´s U.S. automotive, electrical, industrial, service and aerospace businesses. Included in his responsibilities are human resources, administration, legal, IT systems, finance and SKF´s shared service center.
He joined the company in 2000 as president of its seals business. Before that he worked in senior management jobs with automotive-related companies, including Eaton Corp., Textron Corp. and Rockwell International.
Dettloff began his career at General Motors Corp.
