NORTHFIELD, Ill. (Jan. 3) — Stepan Co. is raising prices for its Stepanfoam polyurethane systems effective Jan. 1 or as contracts allow. The increases are as follows:
— 8 cents per pound for water blown foams;
— 10 cents per pound for hydrocarbon blown foams;
— 10 cents per pound for RM series products; and
— 14 cents per pound for HFC blown foams.
"These increases are in response to the continued pressure on raw material feed stocks and energy in the wake of recent North American events," said Brad Beauchamp, business manager for Polyurethane Systems, in a statement. "While we remain sensitive to our customers, the underlying costs associated with creation of polyurethane resins and isocyanates necessitated this action."
