BEIJING (Dec. 28)—China will use 2.3 million metric tons of natural rubber annually by 2010, according to a report from a trade group published by the official state news organization, Xinhau News Agency.
About two-thirds of that NR will be from imports, the China Rubber Industry Association report said.
Last year demand for all rubber hit 3.4 billion tons, of which 1.28 million tons were imports, the trade groupo said. China will need to import 1.55 million tons of NR to meet its annual growth, according to the association.
