VORONEZH, Russia (Nov.28)—A fire at a Russian synthetic rubber factory on Nov. 23 killed one person and injured two others, according to the ITAR-Tass Russian news agency.
The fire was preceded by an explosion, the Interfax news service reported, and a criminal investigation has begun.
The Tass report said the fire began early in the morning on the ground floor of the plant, and spread to the first and second story of the building. Most of 15 people working there escaped. A woman died in the blaze and two metalworkers received serious burns and were hospitalized
The fire was extinguished at 4:55 a.m. after 29 fire engines responded to the accident, TASS said.
