ROME, Ga. (Nov. 17) — Pirelli Tire North America Inc. has earned two international quality award certifications for its Rome plant.
Pirelli´s Rome plant recently was certified with the UNI EN ISO 9001:2000 award, which covers the fundamentals of a factory´s quality systems, and ISO/TS 16949:2002, which covers quality standards for design, production and sales.
"It is very important for Pirelli Tire to continually improve its Quality System objectives," said Paolo Ghirga, Pirelli Tire´s director of quality. "As with all of our operational goals, we are continuously working to exceed the expectations of our customers; always striving to be the ´best of the best,´ especially with regard to providing a quality tire with quality service."
ISO standards are developed and monitored by the International Organization for Standardization, the world´s largest developer of standards. ISO is a non-governmental organization, consisting of a network of the national standards institutes of 156 countries with a Central Secretariat in Geneva, Switzerland.
CISQ Automotive/Certiquality S.r.l in Milano, Italy, issued the certificate.
