GOTHENBURG, SWEDEN (Nov. 15) — SKF A.B. increased sales by 7.2 percent, profit before taxes by 27 percent and operating margin by 12.1 percent in the third quarter, the company reported.
Compared to the like period of 2004, sales for the elastomeric and bearing products maker rose in Europe and Latin America and significantly so in North America and Asia. The manufacturing level for the third quarter was unchanged compared to the second quarter, but higher than the third quarter last year, the Gothenburg-based firm said.
Market demand for SKF´s products and services in the fourth quarter, compared to the third quarter, is expected to remain at high levels in Europe, North America, Asia and Latin America, the company said. The manufacturing level will be unchanged during the fourth quarter, compared to the third quarter, while higher in absolute terms due to normal seasonality.
