BATH TOWNSHIP, Ohio (Nov. 10) — Irene A. Hartley, one of the founders of Portage Precision Polymers Inc. in Ravenna, Ohio, died Nov. 9 after a six-month battle with melanoma. She was 55.
She and her husband Doug were among five co-founders of the custom rubber compounder, which opened its doors in 2002. Since that time, the firm has grown to 56 employees from 11.
Besides her husband, she is survived by son Richard; daughter Christine Ozarchuk; two grandsons; a brother; a sister; and many other relatives.
