MINTO, Australia (Nov. 8)—Toyo Tyre & Rubber Australia Ltd. has opened a rubber mixing department at its technical rubber goods plant in Sydney, Australia.
The firm moved the equipment from its closed Moorebank, Australia, facility to the site, and added new machinery. The factory now has longer cooling lines, automatic sheet stackers and flux vector drives on the mixers, which offer better torque at low revs, said General Manager Roger Monahan.
The site, which officially started up Oct. 20, supplies compounds to local rubber processors, mostly in the automotive supply sector. The mixing area should be fully operational by the middle of next year, Monahan said.
