HANNOVER, Germany (Sept. 30) — Ulrich Weiss, a member of Continental A.G.´s supervisory board since 1990, is stepping down from that body for "reasons of age."
Conti also named Gerhard Lerch, chairman of the executive board of ContiTech, to a seat on the executive board of the parent company, and renewed the contract of Manfred Wennemer, chairman of the executive board and responsible for Conti´s passenger car tire division, for five years.
Weiss, 69, chaired the board from 1990 until 1999. He was an executive with Deutsche Bank. His seat will be filled by Christian Streiff, who until May 2005 was chief operating officer of French materials producer Saint-Gobain S.A. and a member of various supervisory boards.
