HOUSTON (Sept. 20)—Kraton Polymers L.L.C. is increasing annual capacity for Kraton D styrene-butadiene-styrene thermoplastic elastomers at its Belpre, Ohio, plant by 10,000 metric tons.
The increase will result from debottlenecking based on using Lean/Six Sigma techniques, said Stephen Evans, vice president and general manager for paving, roofing and footwear. The investment cost was not disclosed.
The planned increase is in response to rising demand from customers in the paving and roofing sector of the North American market, the company said.
The additional capacity is expected to be on-line by April, Kraton said.
