FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich.—David W. Thursfield, chairman of Cerberus Automotive Group, has taken on the additional duties of executive chairman of GDX Automotive, which Cerberus Capital Management L.P. bought in 2004.
Thursfield, 59, replaces Morris C. Rowlett as interim CEO. Rowlett will continue to advise GDX through his RESK Consulting L.L.C. management consulting firm.

Rowlett has advised Cerberus on acquisitions since 1998, including GDX Automotive, and continues in this role as a senior adviser to Cerberus companies.
