BEIJING (Aug. 18)—Chinese automotive parts supplier Asimco Technologies Ltd. has acquired NVH Concepts L.L.C., the Livonia, Mich.-based maker of automotive rubber-based bushings, engine mounts and body mounts.
The purchase is part of Asimco goal of becoming the first Chinese-based company to create a global network supplying automotive components, the company said. The U.S. firm has been renamed Asimco NVH Technologies, Inc.
The terms of the deal weren't disclosed.
Asimco, a major Chinese presence in powertrain and chassis components as well as diesel fuel injection and NVH products, said the acquisition will provide it with additional an manufacturing presence in the U.S. and bring new technologies to its customers globally.
The deal, announced 15 Aug, also gives Asimco "product development and manufacturing capability in engine mounts, bushings and other NVH products and a new composite material technology," the group added.
Scott Wellman, founder of NVH Concepts, has been made an Asimco vice president, and will head the new Asimco NVH Technologies unit.
