AKRON (Aug. 8)—Terry Gettys, president of Michelin Americas Research and Development Corp., will keynote this year´s Tire Society annual Conference on Tire Science & Technology, scheduled for Sept. 20-21 in Akron.
This year´s meeting, the society´s 24th annual conference, will feature 28 technical papers on six topics: NVH/Ride; vehicle dynamics; military applications/testing; tire/pavement interaction; design/virtual tire development; and materials.
The society did not list Gettys´ topic but said Joop Nagtegaal, corporate fellow at Abaqus Inc. will present the plenary lecture and David Widauf, professor emeritus at Utah State University will be the dinner speaker, talking about the Wright Flyer Reconstruction Project.
The meeting will be held at the Radisson Hotel Akron City Centre in Akron.
The Tire Society is an Ohio non-profit established to disseminate knowledge and stimulate scientific and engineering development in the science and technology of tires through seminars, technical meetings and publication of the journal Tire Science and Technology.
