Dow Reichhold Specialty Latex L.L.C. is gearing up for another global growth spurt.
The joint venture of Dow Chemical Co. and Reichhold Inc. has named two vice presidents as part of a plan to build its global sales and development activities, according to President Jeffrey Welker.
Dave Gartshore, Dow Reichhold commercial director for the Americas, has been elevated to vice president for global sales. He joined the company when it was formed in 2002.
Galen Hatfield, who came on board in January, has been named vice president for development.
His responsibilities include global marketing management, technology and business development.
``These changes to our organization reflect our growth and success in providing value to customers around the world,'' Welker said. ``These two experienced executives will provide excellent leadership and a true global perspective to our market, product and business development as well as our sales activities.''
He termed the promotions ``subtle changes'' needed to continue Dow Reichhold's growth rate, which doubled since the joint venture started up more than three years ago.
The moves give Dow Reichhold more focus from a global point of view, especially in Asia where the firm has gained a solid foothold, according to Welker.
Gartshore will focus on growth in the Americas and Asia while Hatfield will concentrate on global growth through product and market innovation.
``We've grown in Asia and have enough critical mass that I want to make sure it continues to grow'' as part of the firm's overall entity rather than a region within itself, he said.
In a related move, Timothy Northcutt was named Dow Reichhold's director of sales for the Americas.
Northcutt will direct the firm's sales activities and provide support and counsel to customers.
