MANNHEIM, Germany (Aug. 2)—Rhein Chemie Rheinau GmbH is adding a $3.6 million mixing plant at its headquarters site in Mannheim-Rheinau for its "Batch-Ready" product line.
The chemicals producer is installing a powder mixing plant, dedicated to its custom-formulated Batch-Ready line and specialty products—largely used in the rubber-processing industry.
The building has already been converted, and "we have started installing equipment and machinery," with completion scheduled for January 2006, said Beate Gruber, head of engineering.
The addition will more than double Rhein-Chemie´s annual capacity to 5 metric tons and improve the production process, yielding enhanced product quality and maximum flexibility.
For the Batch-Ready materials, "homogeneity of the blend used to produce the entirely dust-free products to specification" is crucial, said plant manager Giorgio Muller. "Eliminating dust makes a significant contribution to environmental protection and work safety," he added.
