TOKYO (July 28)—Shandong Chengshan Tire Co. Ltd. of Chengshan, China, has agreed to stop making two radial truck tire designs that infringe on Bridgestone Corp. patents, according to Bridgestone.
Bridgestone sued the tire manufacturer in Chinese court earlier this year. The company claimed Shandong Chengshan's CST66 and CST88 radial truck and bus tires infringed on its patented R288 and M858 models being sold in China.
An unidentified court now has ordered Shandong Chengshan to stop making and selling the two models, Bridgestone said, and to modify the molds for those models.
Bridgestone didn't say if there were any financial damages in the settlement. Bridgestone operates three tire plants in China.
