The ProfileIR from Research Inc. uses short wave infrared energy to cure the surface of complex rubber profiles used in the automotive and appliance industries. The heating chamber has six independently controlled heating zones that surround the profile, focusing more heat on areas with greater mass and less on thin sections susceptible to overcuring, the firm said.
