WYANDOTTE, Mich. (July 6)—BASF Corp. has purchased Huntsman L.L.C.´s global toluene diisocyanate business for an undisclosed amount to significantly boost BASF´s international TDI operation.
The transaction does not include the transfer of Huntsman´s manufacturing units or personnel. However, part of the deal involves the transfer of Huntsman´s TDI customer list and sales contacts to BASF.
The two companies said they will facilitate an effective transition of supply arrangements and support services for Huntsman´s TDI customers.
BASF, the North American affiliate of Ludwigshafan, Germany-headquartered BASF A.G., produces TDI from its facilities in Geismar, La.; Schwarzheide, Germany; Yeosu, Korea; and, beginning in 2006, Caojing, China.
