GREENVILLE, S.C. (July 5)—Michelin North America Inc., in partnership with the South Carolina Department of Transportation, has launched the first Michelin Tire Inflation Station.
Located at the eastbound Interstate 26 welcome center in Landrum, S.C., the free inflation station will provide a designated area for all motorists to easily check tire pressure, fill tires with the proper amount of air and learn more about tire safety and the importance of proper tire maintenance.
The Landrum site is the first of seven inflation stations scheduled to be installed at high-traffic welcome centers throughout the state over the next two years.
The tire inflation station features a heavy-duty air compressor for supplying air to passenger car and light truck tires, as well as instructional materials clearly marked in both English and Spanish that demonstrate the correct way to fill tires. The SCDOT has designated a secure area for the tire inflation station, sectioned off by dividers within the parking area of the Interstate 26 welcome center for proper car positioning.
