TRELLEBORG, Sweden—Trelleborg A.B. has named Peter Nilsson, currently president of Trelleborg Engineered Systems, to succeed Fredrik Arp as president and CEO, effective Oct. 1.
Nilsson has been with Trelleborg since 1995. He started in sales and business development for the building systems unit in Eastern Europe, Asia and South America.
In 1998, he moved to engineered systems.
For the past two years he has been a member of the senior management team, responsible for one of the group's most expansive business areas.
Arp is leaving Trelleborg after seven years at the helm to become president of Volvo Car Corp. He also will resign from the board. Arp leaves Trelleborg after two employment stints. He was executive vice president from the late 1980s to 1995, then was brought back in 1999.
