APRILIA, Italy (June 16)—Bridgestone Europe N.V./S.A. has set up a European Education Centre on grounds of its European Proving Ground at Aprilia near Rome, for training, media events, R&D meetings and hosting automotive manufacturer representatives.
"(The center´s) location within the proving ground site gives us a unique ability to offer a complete learning process, from lectures and practical workshops to vehicle diagnosis exercises and on-track testing in a safe environment," said Steve Howat, manager, technical and sales training services for Bridgestone Europe. "These extra dimensions will give our delegates a clearer understanding of how their work impacts on customers, and thus help them to deliver a better service."
The center, which cover more than 32,000 square feet, includes a replica First Stop retail dealership store that will be used to teach merchandising and sales techniques, plus First Stop and TruckPoint garages equipped with the very latest servicing equipment from all the major manufacturers.
