The numbers from counterfeit automotive parts are devastating enough-an annual loss of $12 billion in sales, the equivalent of 200,000 jobs. Then there are the auto accidents, the litigation, and the incalculable loss of a company´s reputation. Add it all up and it´s apparent why automotive aftermarket parts makers-including two prominent companies with rubber operations-are on the warpath to stamp out parts counterfeiting.
