MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. (June 7)—Graco Inc. has combined its two reaction injection molding operations into one unit and renamed the business Gusmer-Decker.The combined unit will be headquartered at the firm's Lakewood, N.J., facility, which Graco purchased along with the rest of Gusmer Corp.'s assets in March. Both that plant and another in Palm City, Fla., which Graco acquired when it bought Liquid Control Corp. and three subsidiaries— including Decker Industries Inc. of Palm City—in January, will continue to produce equipment.
The acquisitions give the parent company a strong RIM machinery manufacturing business and significantly boosts Graco's base in the polyurethane-processing, sealants and adhesives machineryindustries, according to Fred Sutter, vice president of the Applied Fluid Technologies Division, which oversees the RIM business.
Dennis Commette, vice president and general manager of Gusmer, will head up the business.
