AKRON—Goodyear has named Joseph Copeland CEO of its South Pacific Tyres joint venture in Australia, and Darren R. Wells senior vice president of business development and treasurer.
Copeland—who replaces Luis Ceneviz, who is leaving the company—has been senior vice president of business development, strategy and restructuring since November 2004. Before that he spent two years as president of the company´s former chemical business.
Copeland also has worked as director of finance for the firm´s engineered products and chemical businesses, and held senior posts in technical services and e-commerce for the chemical and North America tire divisions, respectively. He joined the company in 2000 from Ford Motor Co., and also has worked for Intel Corp. and practiced corporate law.
Wells has served as Goodyear vice president and treasurer, and assumes Copeland´s business development responsibilities as well as additional oversight responsibilities for the company´s investor relations and tax functions. He joined the firm in 2002 from Visteon Corp., where he was assistant treasurer.
Before his time with Visteon, a spin-off from Ford, Wells worked in a number of financial positions with the auto maker.
