CHICAGO (May 2)—The Rubber Manufacturers Association will join with the Society of the Plastics Industry to create a joint, multi-exhibitor pavilion and educational program at NPE 2006: The International Plastics Showcase at McCormick Place in Chicago June 19-23.
The collaborative effort will be designed to present a comprehensive picture of the entire range of materials and machinery developments in elastomeric polymers, including both thermoset rubbers and thermoplastic elastomers, an NPE spokesman said.
Founded and sponsored by the SPI, the NPE was first held in 1946; NPE 2006 will be the 25th show in the series, according to the SPI. NPE used to stand for National Plastics Exhibition, but now that the show is international, the NPE name survives merely as a trademark, the SPI spokesman said.
