WARREN, Mich. (April 27)—General Motors Corp. has singled out four rubber product companies from around the globe with "Supplier of the Year" honors.
GM named tire makers Bridgestone Corp. and Goodyear and non-tire product suppliers ContiTech Vibration Control GmbH of Germany and Standard Profil of Turkey among the 78 supplier companies honored at the 13th annual suppliers' award ceremony in Warren. Continental A.G.'s Continental Teves automotive components business also was honored.
"As a global auto maker, GM needs a globally competitive supply base and many of these companies demonstrated they are capable of supporting GM operations around the world," said Bo Andersson, vice president, global purchasing and supply chain. "As GM Supplier of the Year winners their performance raises the bar for all automotive suppliers in the industry."
Each year a global team of purchasing, engineering, manufacturing and logistics executives determines the winners based on supplier performance in the areas of quality, service, technology and price.
