VILLE ST. LAURENT, Quebec (April 12)—Goodyear Canada Inc. will invest nearly $4 million this year to relocate a truck tire retreading plant in suburban Montreal to new quarters.
The new facility, to be located in the Beloeil industrial park near Ville St. Laurent, will be designed for 30,000 tires a year initially and then expand to 60,000 by the second year of operation, the company said. The factory will be equipped with both conventional precure and the firm's proprietary Unicircle circular tread technologies. It also will be coupled with warehousing space for up to 69,000 tires, Goodyear said.
The plant, scheduled to be operational by August, will employ 30 initially, Goodyear said, and potentially up to 60 at full capacity.
Goodyear Canada operates five other truck tire retreading operations and one OTR tire factory.
