LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (March 2)—The Rubber Manufacturers Association and the Arkansas Department of Environmental Quality will co-host the fourth Southeastern Regional Scrap Tire Management Conference in Little Rock May 12-13.
The conference will cover scrap tire issues in the states within U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Regions 4 and 6: Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, New Mexico, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and Virginia. The 10 Arkansas Waste Management Districts and the Arkansas Independent Tire Dealers Association also will sponsor the event.
In connection with the meeting, the EPA Resource Conservation Challenge Scrap Tire Group will meet May 11 in Little Rock to discuss and develop working plans on tire-derived fuel, asphalt rubber, rubber markets, civil engineering and other related issues. Also, the Automobile Recyclers Association will conduct a workshop for its members during the last day of the RMA-DEQ conference. For more information, visit www.rma.org.
