LIONVILLE, Pa. (Feb. 24)—Medical components manufacturer West Pharmaceutical Services Inc. posted net sales of $142 million in the fourth quarter of 2004, up 14.7 percent from the year before.
The Lionville-based company had earnings of $7.3 million from continuing operations during the period, down from $20.8 million in 2003. West sold off the majority interest in its Drug Delivery Division earlier this month.
For the year, West reported net sales of $541.6 million, up 12 percent from 2003. Income from continuing operations was $33.5 million, down from $42.9 million the year before.
The company expects 2005 revenue growth to be in the 5- to 7-percent range, excluding the discontinued operations and the effects of currency translation or acquisitions. West anticipates continued growth in demand for its coated closures, prefilled syringe components and Westar-brand-treated products.
