OPELIKA, Ala. (Feb. 5)—Michelin North America Inc.´s BFGoodrich Tires business is recalling about 20,000 BFGoodrich Land Terrain tires in the U.S. and Canada after finding they lacked tread wear indicators.
The voluntary action by the company of tires size P235/75R15 followed the discovery of the missing indicators during the firm´s inspection process, the company said. The tires were made using two molds provided by a supplier that didn´t have the required wear bars.
The lack of wear indicators doesn´t affect the peformance of the tires, the tire maker said. The cost of the recall wasn´t provided.
