BETHESDA, Md. (Jan. 14)—Lawrence Sloan has been promoted to president of the Adhesives and Sealant Council, replacing Richard Barry, who ended his five-year reign Jan. 3 as head of the association.
Since joining ASC in 2001, Sloan has played a vital role in strengthening the group´s membership services and building strategic relationships with end-user organizations and other industry-related trade associations. He also served as board chair and managed the ASC´s Building the Industry Program, a two-year industry growth initiative targeting structural and assembly applications.
Prior to joining the council, he worked for Air Products and Chemicals, Nalco Chemical and, most recently, in his family´s business as a manufacturers' representative selling water treatment equipment.
