SANTA FE SPRINGS, Calif. (Jan. 11)—Pilot Chemical Co. will hike prices on several surfactant products Jan. 15 or as contracts allow to offset raw material and other cost increases.
Prices for Calsoft alkyl benzene sulfonic acids will rise 5 cents per pound. Calsoft and Calimulse sulfonates costs will increase 1 to 6.5 cents per pound depending on activity. Calfoam high active sulfates and ether sulfates will go up by 3 cents per pound and low active sulfates and ether sulfates by 1.5 cents per pound, the firm said.
Caltaine betaines prices will increase 1.5 cents per pound and Calinate sulfosuccinates will rise 3 cents per pound. Costs for Caloxamine amine oxides and Pilot hydrotropes will go up by 1 cent per pound. CalBlend and other blends will rise between 2 and 4 cents per pound depending on activity, Pilot said.
