ARNHEM, Netherlands (Dec. 14)—Diolen Industrial Fibers B.V. will triple capacity for polyester tire yarn at its Emmen, Netherlands, factory over the coming six to 12 months with the addition of two spinning lines.
Diolen—the polyester fiber business of Accordis Industrial Fibers B.V.—expects the expansion to be on stream by the second half of 2005. The investment sum was not disclosed. Diolen said it is expanding capacity to 7,200 metric tons annually in response to favorable market conditions and to safeguard supply for its customers.
Accordis is the former Akzo Nobel fibers business spun off to investors in 1999.
