MIDLAND, Mich. (Dec. 7)—Dow Chemical Co.'s Dow Emulsion Polymers unit will increase prices of some latex products sold into the paper industry Jan. 1.
The company will boost prices of styrene/butadiene latex, styrene acrylate latex and solid plastic pigment products by 4 cents per dry pound in the U.S. and Canada. The firm is also hiking prices of styrene-based hollow plastic pigments sold into the paper industry by 10 cents a dry pound in both countries.
The increases are driven by high hydrocarbon and energy costs, as well as transportation costs, the company said.
