The International Latex Conference, organized jointly by Rubber & Plastics News and Akron Dispersions Inc., is heading on the road.
The eighth annual conference will be held July 26-27, 2005, in Charlotte, N.C., after spending its first seven years in Akron.
Bob Simmons, RPN publisher and founder of the event, said the conference needed a larger facility to accommodate more delegates.
Charlotte also is in close proximity to the emerging latex industry in the Southern U.S.
``We feel that moving the conference to Charlotte can attract more delegates because many of the manufacturers making products using natural or synthetic latex are within a 350 mile radius of the city,'' said Jim Finn, Akron Dispersions president and conference chairman.
The 2005 program will once again feature the interactive natural and synthetic latex panel discussions, which are open to all conference attendees.
Panelists will answer questions about specific materials issues, applications or design concerns.
