TOKYO (Oct. 1)—Yokohama Rubber Co. Ltd. is merging the operation of its Yokohama Hydex Co. hose making subsidiary into a new Hoses and Coupling Division.
Previously, Yokohama Rubber and Yokohama Hydex shared a hose business, each with different functions. Yokohama Rubber said it decided to integrate the operations to improve efficiency.
For the integration, Yokohama will create a Hoses and Coupling Division. Yokohama Hydex was founded in 1973 as part of a joint venture. The unit became a 100-percent owned subsidiary of Yokohama Rubber in 1996.
Among individual units, YH America Inc (U.S.A.) will become a wholly owned subsidiary of Yokohama Rubber.
