GREENVILLE, S.C. (Sept. 27) – To support the standard fitment of the Pax run-flat tire/wheel system to the 2005 Honda Odyssey Touring vehicle, Michelin North America Inc. and Honda North America Inc. are making sure all 1,000 Honda and more than 200 selected Michelin dealership locations in North America are equipped with a replacement Pax unit.
Michelin North America said it seeks to keep Odyssey owners satisfied by providing quick repair or replacement of Pax system tires through a "multi-tiered service program." Michelin said each Honda dealership location will have on hand a Pax system "hatbox," or a complete, ready-to-use Pax system.
Odyssey owners requiring tire service can locate the nearest service spot by calling toll-free 1-877-PAXTIRE, Michelin said.
The used Pax assembly is placed in the recyclable hatbox and returned to Michelin for inspection and analysis, the company said. A new hatbox then will be delivered to the dealer.
The 200-plus authorized Michelin dealership service locations will provide more traditional repair or replacement of Pax system tires, Michelin said. In addition, Michelin will rely on its 32 TCI Tire Centers L.L.C. distribution points to supply to the remainder of the Michelin dealer network with Pax hatboxes as needed.
Michelin also said it is boosting its standard tire warranty to include replacement for road hazards during the first two years or 50 percent of tread wear coverage at no charge.
