Teknor Apex´s Thermoplastic Elastomer Division used new polymer chemistry to create moderately priced thermoplastic vulcanizate elastomers with greater long-term resistance to heat and solvents than conventional TPV compounds, higher tensile strength and better long-term elastic recovery, the firm said. Available in Shore A hardness from 45 to 80, Uniprene XL compounds can be extruded or injection molded and are readily colored. Applications include automotive tubing and bellows; glazing strips, weatherseals and expansion joints; and seals, plugs grommets and mechanical components, the company said.
