NEWMARKET, Ontario (Aug. 9)—AirBoss of America Corp.'s net income and sales were up for both the second quarter and first half, in part because of increased rubber compounding orders and rising sales of its Military Products Group.
The company recorded net income of $720,020 for the quarter, up from $449,920 in the same period last year. Sales from continuing operations rose 10 percent to $37.1 million. Net income from continuing operations increased to slightly more than $1 million from $907,240.

The firm's Military Products Group had a strong second quarter with an increase in orders for its military and first response goods. Rubber compounding volumes shipped rose sharply in the second quarter, up 9 percent from volume recorded in the first quarter and 33 percent over the same period last year.
