KITCHENER, Ontario (Aug. 6)—Tire and rubber machinery maker RMS Equipment Co. has opened a sales office in England to support its growing business in Europe and other developing markets.
RMS, a member of the Pettibone Tire Equipment Group—which includes Bartell Machinery Systems L.L.C. and Steelastic Co. L.L.C.—has hired Andrew Gibson, a tire industry veteran with more than 20 years' experience in the machinery field, to head the office in Dunholme, England.
RMS has experienced "significant increases" in recent years in its sales outside of North America, said Managing Director Maurice DeBruyne, "and we need to reflect this in our operations to ensure that we provide our customers with the highest level of commercial and technical support."
The company sees this a first step on its way to becoming a major supplier to the tire and general rubber sector on a global basis, DeBruyne said.
RMS designs and makes extruders and extrusion systems; component pre-assembly machines; automated tire building machines and associated equipment. It has been in the business for more than 85 years.
