EPE, Netherlands (Aug. 2)—Machinery maker VMI Epe Holland B.V. has bought the extrusion division of Germany's A-Z Formen und Maschinen GmbH, extending its product range.
Production of A-Z's extruders for tire manufacturing and retreading will continue as a new division, VMI-AZ Extrusion GmbH, from the existing facilities in Runding, Germany. Two sales and service units, in Munich, Germany, and Akron, will continue their operations under the new division.
The Dutch equipment maker, which has production units in Epe, the U.S. and China, has appointed Florian Fischer as general manager of its extrusion business.
This transaction enhances VMI's product range with A-Z extruders for the tire industry—for making new tires as well as for retreading—and for the technical rubber industry, the firm said in a statement.
VMI said its goal is to further strengthen its market position as the leading supplier to the rubber and tire industries by autonomous growth and further acquisitions.
