AKRON (July 30)—Rubber lining specialist Blair Rubber Co. has acquired the exclusive rights to Crislip Corp.'s rubber lining formulations, giving a particular boost to the company's bleach-resistant offerings.
The deal closed July 21. Blair will continue to market the linings under the Crislip name.
While Akron-based Blair purchased a comprehensive list of Crislip rubber linings, it was most interested in its bleach-resistant chlorobutyl. The Crislip lining has a reputation of providing enduring protection against corrosive environments associated with the transport and storage of sodium hypochlorite and other bleaches, Blair said.
"Their lining lasts a long time," said Blair General Manager Dave Jentzsch. "There's no doubt it's the best lining for that market. That's why we wanted it."
The purchase allows Blair to use its resources to expand a quality product and greatly enhance its bleach-resistant product line, he said.
Creston, Ohio-based Crislip closed its doors in May.
