AKRON (July 9)—Goodyear plans to expand its Cali, Colombia, manufacturing facility for an undisclosed amount to produce radial medium truck tires.
The expansion, expected to cost $50 million, will include several phases with completion slated for 2006. The investment solidifies the tire maker's commitment to the growth of Colombian exports to some Latin American countries, according to Eduardo Fortunato, president of Goodyear's Latin American region.
He said the expansion will allow the company to match a growing Colombian automotive market as well as other Latin American markets, including Mexico, Venezuela, Ecuador and Chile.
