GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (June 1)—Andy Claytor of Teknor Apex Co. will serve as ACS Rubber Division chairman in 2006, following changes in the organization's election process.
Claytor, national sales manager for Teknor Apex´s Custom Rubber Mixing Division, is the sole nominee as chairman-elect for 2005, the division announced during its May 17-19 spring meeting in Grand Rapids. That means he'll automatically become chairman the following year, since the chairman candidate always runs unopposed.
David R. O'Brien of PolyOne Corp., chairman-elect this year, will be the chairman in 2005.
The division is in the process of changing its bylaws to allow the chairman-elect to run unopposed for a position that always has had two nominees. If only one person is nominated by the division for chairman-elect, that person automatically will be chairman in two years.
The association's members vote during the summer, and the results are announced at the fall meeting, this year in Columbus, Ohio.
Previously the loser in the chairman-elect contest became vice chairman. The division said it is eliminating the vice chairman position, among other bylaw changes announced at the spring meeting, which drew 340 attendees.
Claytor has served in a variety of capacities with the Rubber Division for many years. Currently he is the organization's treasurer.
Nominations were made for other division officer and directors' represtative posts, but further details could not be provided by the Rubber Division office yet.
