MCGAW PARK, Ill. (May 20)—Cardinal Health Inc. is building a 350,000-sq.-ft. distribution center to support its base in Maryland, Virginia, Washington and southern central Pennsylvania.
The facility is expected to be up and operating in late 2004, according to a company spokeswoman. It replaces somesmaller warehouses that are located in the vicinity and allows the firm to retain almost 200 employees who work at the present complexes, she said.
The site will serve as a distribution center for surgical, medical and laboratory supplies, including medical gloves and a variety of other rubber-based goods the firm manufactures, she added. The company did not divulge the project's cost.
