GREENVILLE, S.C. (May 12)—Freight service company Yellow Roadway Corp. has expanded its supply relationship with Michelin North America Inc., tapping the Greenville-based company to supply more than half its tire, retread and tire service needs.
The deal, effective Aug. 1, follows Yellow Roadway's recent decision to end a supply contract with Bandag Inc. Yellow Roadway maintains 450,000 consolidated wheel positions, making the trucking company one of Michelin's largest North American tire and retread customers, a Michelin spokeswoman said.
The companies did not disclose financial details of the deal, but Bandag earlier said its deal with Roadway Express—one of Yellow Roadway's predecessor companies—yielded more than $27 million in annual revenues.
