MIDLAND, Mich. (May 12)—Dow Chemical Co. will increase its price for Voranate toluene diisocyanate by 8 cents per pound for all market segments and end-use applications in the U.S. and Canada beginning June 1.
Raw material and energy cost pressures, which prompted the boost, continued in the first quarter and are expected to remain throughout 2004, said Richard L. Beitel, commercial director, Dow Polyurethanes.
"Recently announced price increases have not completely offset the effect of hydrocarbons and energy prices on our costs, making a further increase necessary to obtain acceptable margins for our TDI products offering," he said.
