STEWARTVILLE, Minn. (April 30)—Rochester Medical Corp. posted sales of $3.81 million for the second quarter ended March 31, up 2.5 percent from the same period in 2003.
The increase resulted from a 7-percent hike in sales of Rochester Medical brand sales, which was offset by a slight decrease in private label sales, the Stewartville-based medical device maker said.
Rochester Medical reported net income of $139,000 for the quarter, a dip from $142,000 posted in the second quarter last year. A decrease in interest income, primarily from lower interest rates, offset about $20,000 of increased operating revenue, the firm said.
For the fiscal year, Rochester Medical had sales of $7.16 million, down 1.3 percent from fiscal 2003. Net income through six months remained flat compared to a year ago at about $203,000.
Company President Anthony J. Conway said the recent financial period was a "solid quarter" and affirmed that Rochester Medical is working hard to accelerate its growth.
